Emergencies have a funny way of happening at the least
desirable moment. Have you ever had a power outage, but the emergency power
didn't turn on? Perhaps you did not even have emergency power.
Perhaps you work for a phone company that has had 50,000 phone
lines outaged in an FCC reportable office. It's not usually
the traditional emergencies like fires, earthquakes, gushing water or loss of air conditioning that
causes the outage either. It's just highly-redundant systems
that still seem to fail, due to multiple faults in the hardware or
software.
There is also some possibility of intentional damage to
infrastructure...electricity, roads, water, or a structure
itself. You probably have security cameras if there is some
substantial asset to be protected, but for some reason, those willing to
inflict damage on your property do not seem to notice or care if they are recorded on tape. What
you really need to do is identify in advance how some device or utility could be
damaged, and then do what is reasonable to make it as difficult as possible to carry out such damage.
Truth
is beautiful, without doubt; but so are
lies.

AG Advice and
Support personnel have dealt with all of these
types of incidents. We know how to resolve them
and, better yet, how to prevent them from happening in the first
place. This takes some analysis and planning,
and sometimes capital expense. It's called an
Emergency Action Plan
(EAP), but it can save you a lot of grief, and all too often,
money. How much time and expense is too much for a given level of
risk? We can help you determine just that.
This
is sometimes an area where there is reluctance to spend adequate
resources on future protection and preparedness -- after all, no one
really wants to believe that something bad will happen to them in the
future. The challenge with this belief is you can go many
years finding yourself correct...until something bad does happen.
We have
analyzed, inspected, installed and accepted equipment used in all
aspects of security and communication networks and can pre-emptively
identify problem areas before you encounter a problem.
"Whenever there is danger, there lurks
opportunity; whenever there is opportunity, there lurks
danger. The two are inseparable. They go
together."
- Earl
Nightingale
If your company keeps emergency food and supply kits, remember to inspect them periodically.
